Master Bedroom Tour
Welcome to Our Home
Well, besides creeping into backgrounds this will be the first time I share my home with you. Today we’ll tour my master bedroom which is still very much a work in progress, but if I waited for everything to be completed you’d probably never get a glimpse inside…so here goes nothing.
This room does not venture too far out of the color palette of blue, white, black, cream, and grey…the wall color is Stonington Gray by Benjamin Moore. We decided to trade in our old hand me down furniture for a good set of nightstands and dressers. I love that each nightstand allows you to control the lamp just by touching the side of the table.
Here’s just a little softness for the girly side of the room… I picked up this flower arrangement for under $20 at HomeGoods.
The sun mirror in a muted silver is also a HomeGoods find.
The headboard was my first go at DIY upholstering anything….but we love the results. We built it over a year ago and it has held up beautifully. Each one of those tacks is individually placed…no nailhead trim kit here..
And here’s my lovely lil crystal chandelier. I really really love it in the room, so much that I almost don’t even miss my old ceiling fan, except sometimes in the middle of August…
Its connected to a dimmer…and has a remote control so it really puts out all different levels of light for a customized look during the day or night.
I whipped up these geometric prints in Powerpoint by using the shapes toolbar and printed out two of each slide. Popped them into some Ikea Ribba frames, a great price for custom art at around $10 each.
And that’s where the completed room tour ends and the design dilemmas begin. That corner used to have a chair like this…but I have since moved it to the living room, so now I need something to give the area a little pizzaz.
Here’s the new chair I’m working on refinishing right now. I’m trying to decide between introducing another blue fabric or using the same fabric from the cornices…I have plenty left over so free sounds good….I’ll post the full tutorial on how it was transformed from a flea market find when I’m all done.
And last but not least… this is one of my favorite boys – Jackson the Boston Terrier. I think he matches our black and white master bedroom just fine!

Hi – is that the Overstock chandelier? Ive been admiring it. Your room is beautiful.
It sure is! We love it! It works well on a dimmer too which we added to the switch.
