Felt Rose Bud Tutorial
This felt rosette is just darling with all it differently sized petals…I love it. I used this and other felt flowers on wreaths all the time, although there are a million and one ways to use them. Think of it as flower bedazzling
Felt Rose Bud Tutorial
First start with a circle of felt anywhere from 4″ to 5″ in diameter.
Next starting from the outside of the circle, cut a spiral shape. It’s important that it is a little thicker that the felt rosette flower, so approximately 1/2″ – 1″ thick. Make sure you leave a rounded portion at the inside of your circle.
Next, starting at the pointed end of your spiral start cuttin scallops into your spiral strip. Here’s a photo of phat the process looks like. These will give your rose bud it’s petals. They don’t have to be perfect, or exactly alike.
Then start rolling it up starting at the outside of the spiral…just like you wood a sleeping bag. Secure the different rings every so often to keep your flower secure.
At the end, flip the flower over and use hot glue to attach the rounded portion to the bottom of your rose bud, providing a perfect “cap”.
Now you’re all done!
