Let’s talk chandeliers. With all the DIYers out there, and designers not afraid to use a pop of color in any space, it’s not surprise we’re seeing more and more demand for painted chandeliers in our Etsy shop. I’ve had a ton of comments and messages over the year asking me where I find my brass chandeliers, either new or old, to give a facelift.
We haven’t posted a ton of tutorials lately. Etsy orders started growing in January. I was hoping a “break” would come any day now so I could get ready for my wedding in Mexico at the end of the month…but alas, the orders keep coming in.
In the meantime, I just wanted to share this inspiring post with ya’ll. It is the Top 15 Happily Ever Afters, a fabulous collection of fun and funky furniture that got a little DIY ticket to a new life.
It’s no secret I love Chevron, it is such a popular print, and comes in so many modern color combinations. It can be used in so many ways…around the home, and on clothing and accessories. My Craft Spotlight has a fabulous collection of DIY Chevron Projects – 30 to be exact.
So hop on over and check them out. Here’s a few of my favorites.
Here’s a peek at the next flower in my Felt Flower Tutorial Series. This one is a felt rose with a contrasting center. It’s easy to do, and makes a great accent to tons of your DIY projects!
I just love felt flowers. There are so many different variations and styles, and my fabvorite is any style of no-sew felt flower. These are great projects to do with kids – just use low temp hot glue to protect their little fingers!
This isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned my Etsy customers before, but I really am lucky to have a fabulous group of ladies repeatedly come back for more custom creations from my Etsy Shop – Simply Salvage. 70+ orders and not a single man client yet…hmmm. I would love to have some though! Keep Reading Bench Makeover
Introducing Distressed Finial Picture Frames
I’ve recently been inspired to create my own picture frames to accessorize the shabby chic design rooms I’ve seen lately. I shopped around all the pieces pre-made and quickly realized that it would NOT be very budget friendly to purchase decorative wood bases, frames and finials separately. I decided I’d just have to figure out how to built it all myself. Off to YouTube I go, watching videos on how to build your own picture frame. Ah-ha, it’s a router that I need. My next call was to my fiance, maybe he had one! But no, he was missing that tool from his collection. So on a Monday morning I set off to Home Depot to pick up a router, some stock wood lengths, a little hardware and back to the house I went to teach myself how to use one of these things..
My Work Has Been Featured on An Awesome Blog!!
I had just opened my Etsy Shop when along comes a request for a custom chandelier. I was eager and excited to try something new, so after dozens of e-mails about every detail, we agreed on a price and off I went trying to re-create a custom chandelier similar to this Marjorie Skouras design. Here she is all done and shipped out to Krista Salmon of Kiki’s List Blog.
